A PS liner, also known as a pressure sensitive liner, is designed to stick on the rim of a bottle or jar. This is possible due to the adhesiveness of one side of the liner. By closing the packaging, the cap or lid applies pressure on the liner. Due to this pressure the adhesive becomes active. This creates a seal which protects the content of the packaging and it prevents any leakage. To open the container, the consumer needs to peal of the seal. This way the consumer is certain that it is the first time te packaging is opened. This first time using guarantee is also known as tamper evident. Due to this guarantee this liner is often used for food products.
